Marriott Renaissance Hotel - Los Angeles International Airport, CA
At the end of a cruise to and around Hawaii which started at the Port of Los Angeles we stayed at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport (a Marriott property) one night before flying home. We made this reservation prior to departing on the cruise so we would not have to rush from the ship to catch a flight as soon as we arrived in port. This Renaissance is ideally situated for people traveling out of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX); especially those on early morning flights.
When booking the room, I requested an early check-in at the hotel because I assumed that we would be departing the ship relatively early once we reached the port at the end of the cruise. At that time I was told that it may be possible to check in as early as 1:00 PM but to call back when I got off of the ship to check if a room would be available earlier than normal check-in time (3:00 PM). I later learned that we would be departing the ship at 9:00 AM so prior to leaving the ship in the Port of Los Angeles I called the hotel and requested an even earlier check-in time and was told that they would try to accommodate me. Upon arriving at the hotel at 10:30 AM I was told that our room was ready and we were checked in. This really made our day.
This hotel is oriented towards business travelers which means that there are not a lot of tourists which also means there are not a lot of children. For these and other reasons that I will address below the hotel is just what we were looking for. The lobby is large, airy and open with the reception desk on one end and a welcoming bar on the other. There is a restaurant located adjacent the bar/lounge area where we ate breakfast on the morning that we departed the hotel. The service and food was very good.
The room we stayed in (Club Level One Bedroom Junior Suite) was exceptionally nice. It was spacious and well lighted. Immediately upon entering there is an ample sitting area with a comfortable sofa and chair in addition to a work-desk, coffee table and large flat screen TV. The sleeping area had a very comfortable king sized bed and another large flat screen TV. The bathroom had a combination soaking tub/shower. The room was very clean as was the remainder of the hotel.
An added benefit of staying at this hotel is the free airport shuttle that departs the hotel every twenty minutes. Once on the shuttle the travel time to the Delta terminal was approximately 12 minutes.
I highly recommend this hotel for those of you planning a business trip to the LAX area and especially to those of you planning to fly out of LAX on an early morning flight.
