Every journey must begin somewhere and our “Return to Wroclaw Poland” began when we arrived at the airport in Prague to be swiftly dropped at our hotel.
We chose to stay at the Carlo IV, The Dedica Anthology, one of Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels in the historic center of Prague, Czech Republic. It is truly a stunning gem. It was constructed in 1890 as a neo-renaissance palace before being converted into the Czech Mortgage Bank and, eventually, into a luxurious hotel.

The Hotel Lobby is gorgeous and the hotel also offers a selection of amenities including stylish bars and lounge areas, workout room, pool and a spa where you can relax after a busy day touring Prague.

If you travel a lot, it really pays to belong to a rewards program, and Jim and I have enjoyed many hotel upgrades and advantages over the years by being committed Marriott Rewards Members. When we have accumulated enough points, we even enjoy a free stay now and then.
We had booked our Junior Suite at the Carlo IV using Marriott points and we were pleasantly surprised that the room looked just at lovely and spacious as it had appeared on line!

Our plan was to stay two nights to recover from jet lag and enjoy Prague, which we had not visited for over a decade. It was just a wonderful as I had remembered.
Standing in the heart of Prague's popular City Center, The Carlo IV offers convenient access to the historic heart of the city. For those who love enjoying the sites on foot, it is easily within walking distance to several of downtown's most prominent attractions, including Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge.

If you are up for little bit longer hike as we were, you can walk across the lovely Charles Bridge and all the way to Prague Caste and the glorious St. Vitas Cathedral, enjoying the historic heart of the city and its many wonderful cafés along the way!
We’ll definitely be writing more stories about Prague in upcoming posts at a later date, but I couldn’t wait to recommend the beautiful Marriott hotel Carlo IV! It was a wonderful place to start our journey toward Wroclaw.
